The story

Bruno Mars grew up performing in a family band in Honolulu and reached pop through the back door, writing and producing hits for other artists as one third of The Smeezingtons before releasing his own. 'Uptown Funk' and the Silk Sonic project with Anderson .Paak are period-accurate reconstructions of funk and 1970s soul rather than pastiche — he plays, arranges and choreographs. He has won fifteen Grammys and remains one of the few pop stars who tours as a live band.
