Every kit I owned before this one sounded better in the room than on tape. Not this one. The VLT shells have an open, articulate low end that translates through a single overhead mic almost as well as a full mic'd setup. Hardware is bombproof — two years of load-in/load-out abuse and nothing has loosened or rattled.
